Dr. Winston De La Haye

Dr. Winston De La Haye is a Consultant Addiction and General Psychiatrist at the University Hospital of the West Indies, a Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry and Post Graduate Psychiatry (DM) Programme Coordinator at The University of the West Indies, Mona. 

He completed his MD at the University of Pecs, Hungary, his Postgraduate Degree in Psychiatry at The UWI, Mona, his Masters in Public Health and a Fulbright Fellowship in Substance Abuse at the Johns Hopkins University. He is an Internationally Certified Addiction Professional, Global Master Trainer of Trainers in the Treatment of Substance Use Disorder, Adolescent Addiction and Alternatives to Incarceration.

Dr. De La Haye has served on the Board of the National Council on Drug Abuse on many occasions, including as Deputy Chairman for a 3 year period. He has also served as Chairman of the Bellevue Hospital Board and the Board of Supervision in the Ministry of Local Government.

He is a past Chief Medical Officer for Jamaica, former Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, past Member of the Medical Council of Jamaica, past President of the Medical Association of Jamaica and past President of the Jamaica Psychiatric Association.

Dr. De La Haye established the Medicinal Cannabis Unit in the Ministry of Health in Jamaica  supervising the registration of 42 medicinal cannabis products. He is a member of the Psychedelic Medical Association, presenting at a number of local international conferences and publishing in the area of Psychedelic Medicine. He is a Founding Member and Chairman of the Caribbean Psychedelics Association. He is the Director of Neuro Psych Services at 10 Tangerine Place, Kingston 10, Jamaica.

Dr. De La Haye is a former Military Medical Officer and Captain in the Jamaica Defense Force.
